Riptide's Dedicated Server service provides you with high quality Dell rack mount and Intel® based server hardware running Microsoft Windows® Server® operating systems within state-of-the-art data center environments and connected to our managed high speed, fully redundant network.

Windows® 2005/2008 Server Standard, Web, Datacenter and Enterprise are available with every dedicated server.

Riptide Hosting's self-managed Dedicated Servers give you complete remote server administration access, allowing you total control over your server environment. Your server will be hosted in our state-of-the-art data center environment providing a high level of security, network connectivity, and environmental stability. Your solution will be backed by a Service Level Agreement and a 99.99% network uptime guarantee.

All Dedicated Servers include a minimum of 3 IPs, dedicated network segments (VLAN), a minimum of 100GB of monthly data transfer, remote reboot power control and optional firewalling services. Clients are given and control the administrator login and access the server via Terminal Services or Remote Desktop.

 

The Riptide Difference

Reliability: Riptide's network is composed of redundant switches, redundant routers, and redundant network links at every level to ensure high network availability if individual network devices fail. Many providers do not provide this level of redundancy due to the cost of implementing such an infrastructure.

Security: All customers are provisioned into a separate network segment (VLAN) increasing security and scalability. Many providers do not offer this essential layer of security and protection between clients due to cost and the complexity of engineering the correct solution. In networks where customers are not on dedicated VLANs, several customers' traffic can co-mingle. This results in large security holes and customers getting billed for other customers' bandwidth.

Out of Band Access: Riptide offers remote access options standard with your server. Such features are usually not provided or provided as an add on cost by other providers. KVM over IP services is available for emergencies when you can not connect to your server. All servers are connected to power outlets that can be power cycled remotely by you in the event you need to do a hard power reboot of your server.

Managed Services: Riptide offers an optional shared firewall service delivered via a high availability cluster of Cisco Pix 515E firewalls starting at $50 per month with our dedicated server packages. This adds a layer of defense from Internet worms, viruses, and hackers. Riptide Hosting can also provide optional engineering support in the planning and design of your server infrastructure.
